Bringing attention to textile consumption and disposal in Africa

Alex Musembi is the Co-Founder and current General Manager at Africa Collet Textiles.

The organization actively advocates for the conscious consumerism of textiles, ethical fashion practices from fashion brands and also advise the public on how to dispose their textiles.

Founded in 2020 we saw a gap in the society where the textile consumption was on the rise but there was no proper means to dispose it.

We therefore took the opportunity and set up a collection infrastructure in Nairobi, Kenya and Lagos, Nigeria.

To divert textile waste from the landfills and rivers we have around 50 collection points in both Kenya and Nigeria.

Through these drop –off points we encourage the public to donate their unwanted textiles and footwear.
